Box Tops for Education Now Digital:
Support Skinner West with your Grocery Shoppingboxtop
Box Top for School
What is Box Tops for Education?
Box Tops for Education will donate at least 10¢ to Skinner West for each qualifying item you purchase, at no additional cost to you. 10¢ sounds like a small amount, but adds up quickly! Over the years, Skinner West has earned over $15,000.

Box Tops for Education is now digital. The program is transitioning from Box Tops you clip off of packaging, to digital Box Tops that are collected from your grocery receipts on the Box Tops App. The switch to digital is better for the environment, reduces the amount of expired Box Tops that go to waste, and encourages more companies to participate in the Box Tops for Education program.
See the Box Tops Flyer here: Box Tops Overview

How Can I Help Skinner West?
  1. Download the free Box Tops for Education App and create a Box Tops account.
  2. Scan your receipts in the Box Tops app once you get your groceries put away, or within 14 days of your purchase. The Box Tops app automatically detects qualified purchases and any Bonus Box Top offers. Your Box Top earnings are immediately deposited in Skinner's Box Top Account. *If you shop online for groceries, you can participate too! Please see details: Online Shopping Receipt
  3. Go Old School. Keep your eyes open for traditional Box Tops during the transition to all-digital Box Tops. Traditional Box Tops can be clipped off packaging and sent to Skinner West Library with your child.
  4. Not Tech Savvy? Tired of Apps? Send your receipts to Skinner West Library within 7 days of purchase and Ms. Ranftl will scan them in for you using the coordinator account.
  5. Ask Friends and Family to help. Anyone can collect Box Tops for Skinner West! Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, neighbors, high school and college kids can collect traditional Box Tops, use the Box Tops app, or submit receipts to be scanned.

Hello Skinner West Families,

We hope that you have had a safe and enjoyable summer!  We are ready to welcome our well-rested Superstars on Monday, August 30th.  At this time, the school day is planned to be in-person for the full day.  While we are busy planning for our first day, here are a few important details on the school year:

  • School bell schedule is 8:45 am - 3:45 pm
  • Masks are required for everyone
  • Minimum required 3 ft of social distancing
  • Health screener is required daily for contact tracing
  • Free breakfast and lunch are provided

Please read this communication from CPS on Going Above and Beyond to Keep Everyone Safe.

This school year we will focus on the theme of Re-engagement & Building Communities.  With our children entering/returning to a "normal" classroom setting after a long period of time, we feel it is important to focus on these specific needs of the students.

I understand parents and students still have many questions about this school year.  We are working to design a safe and engaging class day for everyone.

A warm welcome to all of our new Skinner families!  Please pay special attention to the important information below about New Student Orientation and mark your calendars.  Registration is required for new students only; returning students do not need to register.  The registration process is an easy process done completely online.  However, if you are a preschool family, please call the main office to make an appointment.

A warm welcome also to our new Skinner teachers!  We are so happy to have these wonderful professionals join our Skinner West family.  We will be posting introductions to our new staff very soon.

Communication and parent involvement remain extremely important to us here at Skinner West.  Please be sure to sign up for our weekly newsletters by going to this link.  Our weekly newsletter during the school year will continue to be sent to your inbox Thursday evening/Friday morning, although in the next few weeks we will be sending additional communication prior to the first day of school.  Our school website continues to be updated and is a great source of information.  We are also on Facebook.  Our Communications Committee is staffed by volunteer parents who will continue to work hard to get vital information to parents through these sites and newsletter.  Skinner parents may also contact the school through email at skinnerwestparents@cps.edu.

We appreciate your patience in this back to school process. We are dedicated to providing a positive, engaging, challenging, and fun learning experience to our Superstars regardless of the circumstances.  We are happy to partner with you in this endeavor and look forward to a successful, smooth school year.

 Sincerely,
 Principal Clark
